Boulder Lane, Historic Roland Park
Baltimore City, Maryland

If there is one thing I have learned about gardening it is that your garden does not belong to you. It belongs to nature. My husband and I have tried to control a one acre hillside garden full of huge trees and wild wisteria, creating many "garden rooms." On Christmas morning 2003 a 125 foot oak fell across the garden destroying much of one side of a carefully planned section. We are now making lemonade out of lemons by using the new sunlight in the garden.

Roland Park is a Historic section located within Baltimore City. It was carefully planned by Frederick Olmstead to have a "park like setting."
